HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS EPISODE:
Are you in an industry that is predominantly male and feels like it’s not even worth trying to break into the boys’ club? What if I told you that breaking down barriers isn’t as scary as it may seem?
In this bonus episode of Unleashing You, I’m joined by the talented and successful Zoe Willott. This 25-year-old has already broken barriers in the audio industry, winning an award for her 2023 documentary, Women in Sound: Gender Discrimination in the Music Industry. In our conversation, she opens up about being the only woman in her graduate program, why finding a like-minded community changed everything for her, and how others can break barriers within their own lives by taking bold action.
Whether you’re just starting out, feeling stuck, or thriving, Zoe’s insights and experiences will inspire and encourage you on your journey. Don’t miss this empowering conversation. Tune in to find your source of inspiration!
MEET ZOE:
Zoe Willott started her career as a piano performance major at the University of Illinois. While studying there, she explored classical, jazz, and pop music production and became involved in the local music scene under the moniker “Zzo” (pronounced zee-zoh).
Zoe graduated from the University of Illinois in 2020 with a Jazz Piano Performance degree. She moved to Nashville soon after to get a Master’s in Recording Arts and Technologies at Middle Tennessee State University. She focused her thesis project efforts on a documentary about women in the music and audio industries, which received the Documentary Award of Merit.
Since graduating, Zoe has been doing audio freelance work in addition to her music industry job, including editing podcasts and audiobooks.
